Beyond lion, dragon and qilin heads, the workshop makes traditional Buddha heads (大頭佛) and other papier-mâché pieces for religious celebrations, temple processions and funerary rites — all using the same bamboo framing, paper layering and painting.
Accessories to complete a lion, dragon or qilin are also available: tails, crowns, trousers, shoes and more.
A head remains an object until it undergoes the eye-dotting ceremony (開光), which can be performed in the workshop or at your location. If you are unsure which option is right, get in touch and we will talk it through.
