Ceremonial Lanterns

These ceremonial lanterns are rooted in Southern Chinese tradition and inspired by the temple lanterns of Fujian, Guangdong, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Each begins with carefully cut bamboo for a strong frame, followed by layered and shaped paper, then painting with care and intention. The meaning of each motif, the balance of colour and the wishes of the client guide every decision.
